Holoholo was built on Kauaʻi by people who know these waters well and believe the ocean deserves both experience and respect.

Long before the company existed, founder Kevin Millett was building and sailing boats across the Pacific. That's where he learned firsthand that the ocean rewards preparation, humility, and experience.

After landing on Kauaʻi, he began designing and building catamarans specifically for the island’s open-water conditions and remote coastline.

In 1997, Kevin launched Holoholo, the company’s first vessel, from a former pineapple cannery in Lawai. More than two decades later, that same hands-on philosophy still shapes everything we do.

Like our founder, we believe comfort and adventure should go hand in hand. And we still believe the ocean deserves respect above all else.

Built on Kauaʻi, For Kauaʻi

Since 2012, Holoholo has been led by Adrian and Chandra Bertsch. Adrian came up through the maintenance and engineering side of the business as a talented boat builder. Chandra helped lead reservations, marketing, and guest experience before becoming General Manager.

Together, they’ve continued building on the foundation Kevin created while guiding Holoholo into its next chapter.

We continue to build and maintain vessels locally, invest in thoughtful hospitality, support the community that supports us, and help guests experience the Nāpali Coast in a way that feels personal, honest, and deeply connected to place.

We have a passion for creating exceptional moments which turn into cherished memories for our guests. We do that by crafting vessels and experiences to showcase Kauaʻi’s majestic coastline and natural wonders.

Our mission is to help people connect to one of the world’s most extraordinary coastlines in a way that’s authentic, safe, and worthy of the place itself.

Guiding everything we do is a deep respect for the ocean and the life it supports. We know that she makes the rules. Our job is simply to know these waters well enough to share the side of Kauaʻi most visitors never reach, safely and honestly.
